Congregation Beth Ahm of West Essex will host a Shofar Factory/ School Open House on Wednesday, September 8 from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. Students at the synagogue’s Children’s Jewish Learning Center and prospective students are welcome. Interested parents may contact the synagogue office at (973) 239-0754. Beth Ahm, “the small synagogue with a big heart,” is a conservative, egalitarian community. Its members come from many of the surrounding towns, drawn to the welcoming environment, the excellent adult education offerings, and the inter-generational services and friendships.
The Learning Center’s after school classes for grades K through Bar/Bat Mitzvah begin September 20 and Junior Congregation meets on Saturdays beginning October 2. Rabbi Aaron Kriegel, Beth Ahm’s warm and welcoming spiritual leader and principal of the school, is committed to social justice and education.
