Interfaith
Local clergy and congregants from Congregation Beth Ahm, the Church of the Holy Spirit (Verona), and Roseland Presbyterian Church have been holding discussion groups with community members since 2006 as a way to build bridges between their faiths.
Muslim-Jewish-Christian Dialogue (4 Mondays at 7:30 PM – Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24)
This program will highlight the 12th Sura of the Quran, which parallels the story of Joseph found in the Book of Genesis. Facilitated by Mohamed El filali (Asst. Imam, Islamic Center of Passaic County), Aaron Kriegel (Rabbi, Congregation Beth Ahm), Lucy Ann Dure (Rector, Church of the Holy Spirit) and Mac McArthur (Pastor, Roseland Presbyterian). *Workshop takes place at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, 36 Gould Street, Verona, NJ. (No set fee, but donations appreciated for this class).
Christian-Jewish Dialogue (Mondays at 10:00 AM – begins Nov. 7 and runs through May)
Rev. Lucy Ann Dure, Rev. Laurin "Mac" McArthur, and Rabbi Aaron Kriegel will facilitate. This course will begin its 8th semester of dialogue and will highlight the text from the prophets, including Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel.
