Beit Midrash:
Rabbi Kriegel will share his daily study of tractate
chagigah with those who wish to join on an informal basis in the library
every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Ongoing.
Lessons in Chassiduth:
Learn the Chabad classics and the Chabad overview of the world from Rabbi Ephraim Mintz,
a teacher who certainty exemplifies all of the lessons he teaches.
Rabbi Mintz has taught at Beth Ahm for the past four years and has developed a very loyal following.
With his class, you have the opportunity to be one of his 'Hassidim' too,

Guide to the Perplexed:
An exploration of the theology and faith of the 11th century Jew as seen through the eyes of Moses Maimonides.
Guide to the Perplexed was his attempt to understand both developing Western
thought (with roots in Aristotle) with the Jewish tradition of Rambam's
heritage. Instructor: Rabbi Aaron Kriegel. Starting Tuesday, November 7th at 7:30 PM (meets weekly)
Hebrew for Beginners:
A basic course where students with no previous training, are taught to recognize and read
Hebrew. The aim of the study is to allow congregants to feel comfortable with the Hebrew
prayer book.
Instructor: Rabbi Aaron Kriegel. 5 Sundays starting November 12th at 10:00 AM. (Pre-registration is mandatory).
Intermediate Hebrew:
For those who can read the Siddur, but desire a basic understanding of the prayers as composed
in our ancient and living language. Instructor: Rabbi Aaron Kriegel.

Friedman's Adult Education:
Starting Sunday, Oct. 21st at 3:00 PM. How Jews are portrayed in film. "The Dybbuk".

We will discuss the beauty of everyday objects, the vibrancy of spiritual items, and how contemporary American Indian artists have incorporated traditional methods and techniques.

Language Under the Microscope

Linguistics is a field of study that looks at language as scientific data.
This course will challenge myths about language and substitute real (and more interesting)

What is Midrash

Midrash is a type of literature that interprets the Bible through stories and fables.
It "fills in the white spaces between the black letters in the Torah."
Join us in exploring the mysteries of Midrash.
Masters of the Cinema: Part III
3 Wednesdays - view films at 1 PM, discussion at 3 PM, December 6 - 20

We will consider three films that have achieved near-mythic status and the directors who brought them to the screen:
Merian Cooper and Ernes Shoedsack's King Kong (1933);
Michael Curtiz's Casablanca (1942);
and Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly's Singin' in the Rain (1952).
